Module 1 of 7 · ArcGIS Pro Fundamentals · 3 lectures (1 h 6 min) · 9 lab walk-throughs (1 h 10 min)

Overview

In this module we will learn what GIS is in general and why it is so cool. We'll look at what ArcGIS is and describe a few alternative software packages you might like. We'll also look at some of the common things we do in GIS generally, and then we'll see how to do those things in ArcGIS Pro.

Please view the lectures, then work through the lab exercises. If you want it, the original Powerpoint file is available below.

All the lab exercises are presented in the document Intro to ArcGIS: Lecture Notes and Lab Exercises. Remember, the lab exercises are where you really learn the material, so take advantage of them! I'm here and excited to answer any questions you have, or help out if you get stuck on anything. Walk-through videos of all the lab exercises are on the lab exercise videos page.
